&Beyond Bateleur Camp at Kichwa Tembo is in the north-western corner of the richest game park in Kenya. Meaning "Head of the Elephant" in KiSwahili, Kichwa Tembo is flanked by the Oloololo Escarpment and the Sabaringo River. The camp lies deep in a monkey-rich forest on the exclusive western side of the Masai Mara National Reserve, far removed from the package tourism of the eastern Mara.

The tented suites boast an easy, classical elegance, with polished wooden floors and ensuite bathrooms with indoor and outdoor stone-walled showers and a copper bathtub. Each tent has its own deck overlooking the vast game-filled plains of the Masai Mara and a personal butler ensures that every need is catered for. Beautifully handcrafted artefacts, fine antiques, leather buttoned Chesterfield sofas, books, crystal and candlelight adorn the comfortable sitting and dining areas, transporting guests back to the heyday of classical safari.

In 2015, the company's 2020 impact goals was to Care of the Land, Care of the Wildlife and Care of the People. Initiatives were made to focus on protection on endangered land and species, active management of wildlife population to maintain biodiversity, supporting wildlife education, maximising shared value opportunities through economic benefits, capacity building and infrastructure, and reducing direct carbon footprints.
